Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Buy Me a Coin, a non-custodial donation front-end for public blockchain networks, together with any related websites, applications, APIs, and services we operate (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
Buy Me a Coin lets creators generate public donation links and lets supporters send cryptocurrency to those links. Every transfer happens directly between the supporter's wallet and the recipient's wallet on a public blockchain. We do not take custody of, freeze, reverse, pool, or otherwise control user funds at any point.
For same-chain, same-token transfers, funds move in a single on-chain transaction signed and paid for by the supporter directly to the creator's wallet. For cross-chain or cross-token transfers, the transaction is routed through LI.FI, an independent third-party bridge aggregator, which may use underlying bridge protocols such as Across, Stargate, or others. In all cases the supporter signs and pays for the transaction; we never hold or custody funds.
We do not operate a money-services business, an exchange, a broker-dealer, or a payments institution. The Service is informational and interface-only.
2. Eligibility
By using the Service you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction and are legally able to enter into a binding contract.
- You are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions or embargoes administered by the United Nations, the United States, the United Kingdom, or the European Union.
- You are not listed on any sanctions, denied-parties, or restricted-parties list maintained by the above authorities.
- Your use of the Service does not violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
3. Your account
You create an account by signing a cryptographic message with your wallet (Sign-In with Ethereum / EIP-4361) or by authenticating through Telegram. You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your wallet, seed phrase, private keys, and any linked accounts. Any action taken through a valid authentication session is deemed to have been taken by you.
You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We are not liable for losses caused by your failure to maintain wallet or account security.
4. Your content and conduct
You retain ownership of any content you publish on the Service, including your display name, avatar, link labels, and link configuration ("User Content"). By publishing User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, display, and transmit it solely to operate the Service.
You are solely responsible for the legality, accuracy, and appropriateness of your User Content. You agree not to use the Service:
- To solicit funds for any illegal activity, including fraud, terrorism financing, or the sale of unlawful goods or services.
- To defraud, mislead, or misrepresent yourself or any third party.
- To impersonate any person, organisation, or project.
- To circumvent economic sanctions, launder proceeds of crime, or evade taxes.
- To distribute malware, phishing material, or content that infringes the intellectual-property or privacy rights of others.
- To scrape or harvest data from the Service by automated means except as permitted by our robots.txt and any published API.
We may remove User Content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice, at our sole discretion.
5. Transactions and risk
All on-chain transactions are irreversible. You are responsible for verifying the recipient address, selected network, token, and amount before signing any transaction.
You specifically acknowledge the following risks:
- Irreversibility. Once you sign a transaction it cannot be reversed, cancelled, or recalled by us or anyone else.
- Cross-chain routing. Cross-chain and cross-token donations are routed through LI.FI and underlying bridge protocols (Across, Stargate, and others). These are independent third parties. Bridge failures, delays, or exploits may result in delayed delivery, failed transactions, or partial loss of funds. In the event of a failed cross-chain transaction, recovery depends on LI.FI and the relevant bridge protocol — we have no ability to recover funds on your behalf.
- Creator address configuration. We record a snapshot of the creator's target wallet address at the time you initiate a donation. If a creator changes their receiving address after you have already signed a transaction, your funds will be sent to the address that was active at the time of signing. We are not responsible for address changes made by the creator after your transaction is submitted.
- Volatility. Cryptocurrency values fluctuate significantly. The value of tokens sent or received may differ materially between the time a donation is initiated and the time it settles.
- Network conditions. Blockchains may experience congestion, reorganisations, forks, or downtime outside our control.
- Third-party infrastructure. Service availability depends on third-party providers including LI.FI, Ankr, Alchemy, and bridge protocols. Downtime at these providers may temporarily prevent transactions from completing.
- Smart contract and wallet risk. Wallets and smart contracts may contain undiscovered bugs or be targets of attacks.
6. Fees
We currently do not charge a platform fee on donations. Donations are transferred in full from the supporter to the creator, subject only to blockchain network fees ("gas") that are paid directly to the underlying network and are not under our control.
We may in the future introduce optional premium features or subscription plans. Any fees associated with such features will be clearly disclosed in the interface before you are asked to pay. The introduction of premium features will not affect the zero-fee nature of the core donation flow unless we notify you otherwise in advance.
You are solely responsible for determining and complying with any tax obligations arising from your use of the Service in your jurisdiction.
7. No financial or tax advice
Nothing on the Service constitutes financial, investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice. Before making financial decisions you should consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on the following third-party components, among others. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their performance, availability, content, security, or practices. Your interactions with them are governed by their own terms and policies.
- LI.FI — cross-chain bridge aggregator that routes cross-token and cross-chain transactions. LI.FI and its underlying bridge protocols (Across, Stargate, etc.) are independent parties. Bridge failures are outside our control.
- Reown (WalletConnect) — wallet connection relay protocol used for wallet authentication and transaction signing.
- Ankr — blockchain data provider used to query live wallet balances.
- Alchemy — RPC provider used for blockchain read queries.
- Telegram — used for optional authentication and bot-based notifications.
- PostHog — product analytics platform receiving anonymised event telemetry (no personally identifiable information).
- Cloudflare — CDN and DDoS protection layer.
- Public blockchain networks — Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Solana, and others. All activity on these networks is permanently public.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its source code, interface, design, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by us and our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no right to use our trademarks, branding, or proprietary material outside of normal end-user interaction with the Service.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. WE MAKE NO WARRANTY REGARDING THE PERFORMANCE, SECURITY, OR AVAILABILITY OF ANY THIRD-PARTY BRIDGE, AGGREGATOR, OR PROTOCOL USED BY THE SERVICE.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF FUNDS, PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
THIS INCLUDES WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY LOSS ARISING FROM: BRIDGE FAILURES, CROSS-CHAIN ROUTING ERRORS, THIRD-PARTY PROTOCOL EXPLOITS, FUNDS SENT TO AN INCORRECT OR OUTDATED WALLET ADDRESS, BLOCKCHAIN REORGANISATIONS, OR TEMPORARY SERVICE UNAVAILABILITY DUE TO THIRD-PARTY DOWNTIME.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF USD 100 OR THE TOTAL FEES YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us and our affiliates, officers, employees, and agents harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or damages, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.
13. Sanctions and export compliance
You may not access or use the Service in violation of applicable export controls, sanctions regimes, or anti-money-laundering laws. We may block wallet addresses, accounts, geographic regions, or specific transactions where required by applicable law or where we reasonably believe that compliance requires it.
14. Force majeure
We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: failures or exploits affecting third-party blockchain networks, bridges, RPC providers, or aggregators; distributed denial-of-service attacks; actions of governmental authorities; blockchain protocol upgrades or hard forks; or other events of a similar nature. We will use reasonable efforts to resume normal operation as soon as practicable.
15. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We may update these Terms periodically; when we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide in-product notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or applicable law, where we are required to do so by a binding legal order, or where continued access creates an undue security, legal, or reputational risk.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
18. Miscellaneous
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreement on the same subject. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets.
